Junior Mechanical Design Engineer - West Mids - £23-28k
Platform Recruitment is seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer for a company that produces special purpose machinery. The company specializes in advanced machinery solutions and is committed to fostering innovation and excellence in the field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the design team in creating and updating mechanical designs, drawings, and documentation for a range of machinery products.
They are looking for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer with 1 year of experience to help develop and grow their existing product range. The candidate should be an engineer that has expertise in design, and play a crucial role in achieving design standardization, product quality improvement, and cost reduction.
Main Duties:
+ Modernize old and new drawing formats in CAD database for standardized drawings.
+Collaborate with the design team to use common components, and reduce assembly times and costs.
+Assist in creating new products
+ Produce full product specifications, assembly/ product documentation and design reports.
+Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal departments.
Skills and Experience Required:
+ Knowledge of Casting/Forging, CNC machining processes, precision grinding.
+ Solid understanding of 3D CAD design packages, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
+ Proficiency in reading and comprehending technical drawings.
+ Familiarity with geometric and dimensional tolerances (GD&T)
+ Relevant qualification, such as HNC, HND, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
The salary will be between £23,000 - £28,000 depending on experience.
