Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – £40k-£55k – Cambridge – Capital Equipment
Platform Recruitment has partnered with a manufacturer that design and develop electro-mechanical machinery across the full development cycle – concept through to production. They’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be capable of delivering highly robust and thoroughly tested mechanical design solutions as well as leading mechanical development on new product development projects.
Main Duties:
+ Develop new products – concept to production
+ 3D CAD design
+ Prototype, test & validate designs
+ Mechanism & component design
+ Produce bills of materials
+ Work with production to solve technical issues
+ Work in a multidisciplinary team
Skills and experience required:
+ HNC or above in relevant engineering discipline
+ Experienced in bespoke machinery or capital equipment
+ Full product lifecycle
+ 3D CAD skills – Ideally Solidworks
+ Hands on & practical – Prototype & test
+ Experience in any of the following would be beneficial - mechanisms, fluid handling, drives, jigs & pneumatics
The salary will be between £40,000-£55,000 depending on experience. There is also a generous benefits package available.
