Mechanical Design Engineer - £40k-£55k – Bedfordshire – Special Purpose Machinery
Platform Recruitment has partnered with special purpose machinery manufacturer who develop machines from concept stages through to production. They’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join an expanding design team. You will need to be capable of delivering highly robust and thoroughly tested mechanical design solutions as well as leading mechanical development on new product development projects.
Main Duties:
+ 3D CAD design
+ Design and develop new machinery
+ Prototype and test designs
+ Conduct feasibility studies for new concepts
+ Produce BOM’s
+ Work as part of a team and on individual projects
+ Project leadership
Skills & Experience Required:
+ Experienced in the full product lifecycle
+ Strong 3D CAD skills
+ Produce manufacturing drawings
+ Experience in designing special purpose machinery, conveyors or capital equipment
+ Knowledge of fabrication, machining and assembly techniques
+ Hands on and practical engineer
The salary will be between £40,000-£55,000 depending on experience. There is also a generous benefits package available.
