Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - £40K- £50K - Southampton - Optics/Precision Design
I’m currently recruiting for a large company specialising in the design and manufacture of high precision scientific instruments in the Southampton area. They’re looking for a talented, enthusiastic and driven Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an innovative development team. You will have the opportunity to take new products from concept through to production as well as working on several exciting R&D projects.
Main Duties Include:
+ DFM
+ 3D CAD design (Solidworks)
+ Design and development of high precision opto-mechanical components
+ Detailed design drawings
+ Finite Element Modelling and Analysis
Skills and Experience Required:
+ 3D CAD design experience (Solidworks preferred)
+ Minimum of 5 years experience working with high-precision electro-mechanical components
+ Knowledge of fibre optic and laser products
+ Strong knowledge of CFD thermal simulation
+ Hands-on machining and manufacturing experience
+ Engineering change request process experience (preferred)
Salary will be between £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience. There is also a company benefits package including private medical care for the desired candidate..
